kessler is favourite to win this whole super 6 outright,he's a solid tough guy but he's been fighting european stand up guys, the loss to calzaghe showed that speed and boxing will beat him and andre has that in abundance,it's gonna be andre's toughest fight of his career but i see him winning a unaminous points victory!!!! go andre

i joined this wack ass site just so hopefully ANDRE THE HEADBUTT MACHINE reads this. A rea champion doesn't hold after evry hit n give your apponent a headbutt everytime he goes in for a cross right. I hope and can't wait for him to fight abraham so he kicks his ass, or try my sport come on over to the mma side so they can elbow your face in.

I agree with John. I felt like i was watching a bernard hopkins fight. Headbutt your opponent then hold as fast as you possibly can. I counted at least 5 intentional butts by Ward. It seemed like everytime Kessler wanted to square off in a true fight on the inside, Ward jumped in and held him. I had to laugh when Ward claimed he wasn't a dirty fighter at the end of the fight. Thou shall not lie, oh holy one. I was an Andre Ward fan prior to this fight but after seeing him use every dirty tactic in the book i'm neutral now. I can understand him trying to do anything he can to get the title but it makes boxing look bad. Andre Ward has a huge amount of talent, but he is better than this. The fans want to see a fight without the holding and headbutts.

I think Andre received one warning for a head butt. Holding was on both sides - Kessler is a good fighter, didn't get to this fight by being otherwise. Andre was in command of this fight after the mid 1st round - never let Kessler get into his game. From what I can tell, that nasty cut over Kessler's eye was a combination of both Andre's punches and a head butt.

Regardless Andre protected himself pretty well. At the end of this fight he looked like he had come back from an evening jog whereas Kessler actually looked like he had been in a fight.

As not uncommon, people confuse a fighter with a boxer.  Kessler admitted after the fight the he is a fighter with basically one style; whereas Ward is a boxer with a variety of styles and methods to win a match.  The sport is labeled boxing, not fighting.
As for the headbutts, those happen in close quarter boxing, most often not intentional. Kessler did not know how to handle Ward inside. The scoring easily indicates Ward was in control. Ward connected much more than Kessler- whose face ,on both sides, showed it.  Kessler's nose was also blooded.
As seems to be the case, Ward was underrated again; maybe no more.

Good Morning All:

On 21 November 2009, I was afforded the opportunity to photograph the Super Six World Boxing Classic and WBA Middleweight title fight between Andre 'SOG' Ward and Mikkel 'The Viking Warrior' Kessler.

Andre Ward won. Decisively.

He is now THE NEW, undisputed, undefeated WBA Middleweight boxing champion of the World. He is also 2-0 (won two, lost none) in the Super Six, Super Middleweight World Boxing Classic.

Even though I did not have ringside access, I was able to take over 2000 photographs, and was able to meet some fabulous and very interesting people as well!!

The following article is my very first photojournalistic effort!!

Ward’s rules: Andre Ward beats favored Mikkel Kessler for WBA middleweight world championship

A very big thank you to all who have assisted me in getting to this point.

Forward,

Hi Malaika - are you going to be at Andre's next scheduled fight against Green on the 24th in Oakland?

I'm hoping to be back from a trip abroad then and will be there.
